To all those skilled at shooting in the long bow - Greetings! Be it known that the Bowmen of Adel, as custodians of the Royal Armouries Arrow, do invite all true and honest bowmen, shooting in a traditional longbow, to compete for the award of this perpetual trophy in a contest celebrating St George's Day.
Sherry and cake will be served as and when appropriate. Breakfast, lunch and light refreshments available.

A relaxed and friendly shoot for archers with less than TWO YEARS of experience as an archer who will be Archer 1st (2nd Class in the old system) or below on the day. Experienced or higher-class archers are welcome to enter on the understanding that they will not be eligible for awards. South Leeds Archers invite you to their 4th Summer Long Metrics Open. A non-Record Status Competition to be held on Sunday 14th June 2026. Assembly is at 11:00 AM and the venue gates open at 9:30 AM. The round shot is the Long Metric series of rounds which consist of 3 dozen arrows at two distances on the 122cm faces and 10-zone scoring. There will be a lunch break after the first distance, and the available rounds are as follows: Long Metric 1 - 70m and 60m; Long Metric 2 - 60m and 50m; Long Metric 3 - 50m and 40m; Long Metric 4 - 40m; and 30m and Long Metric 5 - 30m and 20m.
